{"id":352,"date":"2012-05-18T12:35:41","date_gmt":"2012-05-18T16:35:41","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/markkirkwood.com\/?p=352"},"modified":"2012-05-18T23:35:01","modified_gmt":"2012-05-19T03:35:01","slug":"staff-meeting-template-w-protocols-purpose-etc","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blog.markkirkwood.com\/?p=352","title":{"rendered":"A sample staff meeting template w\/ protocols, purpose, etc."},"content":{"rendered":"<p>This is the template that I have used for several years\u2014I have scrubbed it and made it generic for this post:<\/p>\n<p><strong>XYZ\u2019S WEEKLY STAFF MEETINGS [w\/ DIRECT REPORTS]<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Why weekly?<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Want firsthand update on the business<\/li>\n<li>Business conditions warrant it<\/li>\n<li>Assure alignment<\/li>\n<li>Share what\u2019s going on so you can do your job and gain full executive communication<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Attendance required; on time; no substitution without prior XYZ approval<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Weekly, Monday @ 10:00 a.m. to noon; can\/will be extended as needed<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Agenda<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Suggested items and requested time needed to ABC (Finance guy or CFO) by Wednesday preceding the meeting\u2026 indicate if significant action\/decision desired at meeting<\/li>\n<li>Agenda reviewed by XYZ and issued by Thursday<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Confidentiality<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>No gossip<\/li>\n<li>Reinforce with your assistants and others<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Decision process<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Consensus\u2014all views heard<\/li>\n<li>Final decision by XYZ as needed<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Behavior<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Pay attention; no sidebar conversations or secondary tasks\u2026 really listen<\/li>\n<li>Stick to subject<\/li>\n<li>Openness<\/li>\n<li>Pre-work; prepared when\/as needed<\/li>\n<li>Jokes, fun\u2014OK<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Once-around-the-table-process<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Limited to three (3) minutes each\u2014no borrowing<\/li>\n<li>Items requiring more time to be on agenda<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><em><strong>Focus:<\/strong> Discuss our financial performance v. plan, sales results, and the big \u201cmove-the-needle\u201d projects\/plans for the business.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>Other:<\/strong> Weekly 8 \u00bd\u201d x 11\u201d on key events\/issues [from non-direct reports].
