Ten principles for good design

Dieter Rams: ten principles of design. These principles [“Ten commandments”] have been making the rounds lately [being driven by Apple’s design(s)). This topic is appropriate for a number of our customers, so I thought I’d include it here.

Here they are:

Good design is innovative
Good design makes a product useful
Good design is aesthetic
Good design makes a product understandable
Good design is unobtrusive
Good design is honest
Good design is long-lasting
Good design is thorough, down to the last details
Good design is environmentally-friendly
Good design is as little design as possible
